Purchase Domains at Webdock and easy DNS management

Possibly by using Cloudflare as our DNS provider where you simply link your Cloudflare account (or create one when buying a domain with us)
Advanced DNS would then happen in the Cloudflare dashboard, while basic DNS management would also be available in the Webdock dashboard.

Was this an internal thought or a customer feature request?
The way I see it, this will be hard to get right. How would you define basic management? Only offer the most used DNS record types?
Would you define a basic template for a new zone which Cloudflare features are active? BTW, that template would have to be extensive since Cloudflare has so many products now.
I can see the huge benefit that entry level users won't have to understand Cloudflare's UI to manage their CF DNS, which is one of the best in the industry, and enables the use of an amazing platform. But it will be a huge undertaking to get the UI for it in Webdock just right.
And Domain sales is a whole other topic. Which domain provider will you select? Some are cheaper than others on some TLDs, but then again not on other TLDs, so if you want to make considerable sales you would have to partner with multiple of them to offer a large amount of TLDs. Affiliate helps here but I don't think provider APIs work with Affiliate programs.

Epsilon PS _ Paul Schiffer: We have a lot of this built already and the vision was to provide a super-simple DNS management interface with 1-click setup of the most common records for your domain.
We have built against the Ascio API which will allow us to sell almost any TLD - not at the best prices as first as we need some volume to drive price down, but that will hopefully come.
This project is stuck in development hell however and it is hard for us to say when we will make progress here again - but it's something we have invested quite a bit of time and effort into already, so it will get done eventually.

Arni from Webdock: Thanks for the additional information. You talked about a range of implementation issues in the initial status update. Are they the ones stopping you from continuing the feature or are you just having the problem of not knowing what to prioritize first? I could, as I also offered in the Datacenter Firewall thread, provide an outside opinion on the problems you encounter and also provide some feedback from a customers point of view, obviously under NDA since its a Webdock specific solution.
I also think, if this feature is close to being ready, that doing a closed or open alpha/beta test with signups to see how many customers like the idea of One-Pane-of-Glass management of their servers, DNS and domains is a good idea, and since it would be alpha/beta, certain features not being ready is acceptable.

Epsilon PS _ Paul Schiffer: The issue here is partly resources - our dev who built all of this and brought us to 80% completion has left the company - so we need to find somebody to take over the work.
Partly it's been delayed for about ~1 year now so we'd need to do a lot of UI work and updates (Ascio has also changed their API in the meantime) before we are in a beta state, even.
But I'll keep you in mind once we get this underway again :)

We have a lot of this built already but have encountered a range of issues with implementation. At this point we are unsure when we can finish and deploy domain sales and DNS management in Webdock. Please let your voice be heard here if you would like to see this sooner rather than later as this will help us prioritize this feature.
